Using a Brix meter to measure plant health

As part of the Chelmsford Monitor Farm YEN entry this year, one of the Monitor Farm group suggested using a Brix refractometer through the season, as a measure of how healthy the plant is.  More often used to measure sugars in fruit, wine and beer, the Brix meter isn’t usually used in wheat to date, but we are keen to trial it this season as an extra innovative measure to inform how we might be able to further push yield on the YEN plot.
